Expanding into Southeast Asia through a Strategic Partnership with FPT, Vietnam's Leading IT Company
Co-creation Paves the Way for New Value

Taking on the Growing Vietnamese Semiconductor Market

In April 2025, Restar entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with FPT Semiconductor JSC ("FPT"), a subsidiary of FPT Corporation, the largest IT company in Vietnam. In Vietnam, the semiconductor industry has been positioned as a national strategy, with the government actively driving industrial development. Maintaining a neutral stance even amid rising geopolitical tensions, Vietnam aims to play a vital role in the global supply of electronic components — making it an attractive market for Restar. The partnership with FPT represents a key initiative not only to expand our presence across the Southeast Asian region, but also to strengthen our future business foundation in engineering-related fields, including semiconductor development and manufacturing.

Collaboration Spanning from Sales to Development

Restar successfully introduced FPT's chips to the Japanese market for the first time in 2025. This marks the first tangible outcome of our partnership — a truly memorable first step. Our partnership with FPT defines the scope of collaboration to encompass joint product development as well as technical cooperation at FPT's Vietnam-based facilities. By extending our engagement beyond product sales to include design and technical services, we are building a framework to deliver greater added value to our customers. This initiative also aligns with Restar's efforts to establish an Engineering Business Unit, as outlined in our Medium-Term Management Plan.

Creating Value through Four Areas of Collaboration

  1. Semiconductor Chip Sales
Targeting sales of 10 million units over three years, we will leverage the networks and resources of both FPT and Restar to drive market development. We will also actively pursue expansion across the broader Asian region.
  2. Joint Development
By complementing each other's technical strengths, we will work together to develop competitive products. We will further reinforce our collaborative framework through engineers exchanges and knowledge sharing between both organizations.
  3. Testing and OSAT (Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Test) Services
We will establish a system to ensure product quality and enable stable delivery to our customers — realizing the provision of technology they can truly rely on.
  4. Development at Vietnam-Based Facilities
By offering technical services on-site — including design, and development — we will build a development framework that is both swift and efficient.

Restar's Challenge and Value Creation for the Future

Through this collaboration, Restar will apply its technical expertise at every stage — from design and development to quality assurance — to provide customers with reliable products and services. As we work toward establishing the Engineering Business Unit set forth in our Medium-Term Management Plan, we will continue to strengthen our presence in Southeast Asia. Responding to market growth and the evolving expectations of our customers, Restar will further reinforce its role as an electronics distributor and pursue the sustainable creation of value.

Challenging Together, Reaching Higher

Challenging Together, Reaching Higher

On April 1, 2026, wrestler Akari Fujinami joined Restar. Having conquered the World Championships, the Asian Games, and the Paris 2024 in the 53kg category, Fujinami chose to take on a new challenge by moving up to the 57kg class.

Co-Creation Unlocks the Door to the World

Restar's Vision (management philosophy) is built upon the words: "Global (in view and scale)/Social Contribution/Co-creation and Innovation" This is the core principle of our management — to create value that cannot be achieved alone by partnering with those who bring diverse strengths, and to contribute to the advancement of society.
